The local bus, it’s quite alright

Not sure what other Michelle’s experience was with the local bus, but this was not bad at all. There was air conditioning, cushioned seats, and a little foot rest under the seat in front of me. Even the guide books reference the CTM and Supratour buses, but really, the local bus was just fine. Plus, local buses offer more departure times and are less expensive!

Lesson learned: Everyone’s standards are different.

This is a CTM bus, a "nicer" bus that tourists often use. However, this bus from Chefchaouen to Fez ($8.26 USD) was far worse than the local bus I took from Tangier to Chefchaouen ($3.89 USD). There wasn't any A/C and the seats were the same.

  1. Hello, my name is Cindy and I stumbled upon your blog when I was researching for some buses from Fes to Chefchaouen. I will be visiting Morocco in a few days and nowhere on the web shows times for departure or arrival from Fes to Chefchaouen. Did you by chance travel from Fes to Chef? and if so, do you happen to know the time schedules for the buses? Are there bathroom breaks during your bus travels? Sorry for all the questions. Thank you!

    Safe Travels,

    Cindy

    • Hi Cindy,

I traveled by bus from Chefchaouen to Fez. I think it was my Supratour. They are usually nice buses but this one didn’t have A/C, just an old one, I think. I don’t know the times, nor do I think they are posted on the internet. Once you arrive in a city, go to the bus station to figure out your options and buy your ticket a day or two in advance.

      Cheers,
      Michelle
